Somerset Capital was founded in 2007 by Edward Robertson, Dominic Johnson and Jacob Rees-Mogg as a specialist Global Emerging Markets investment management firm. Over time the firm has grown to $9.8bn under management with 49 members of staff including 19 investment managers and analysts based in London and Singapore.
Somerset Capital is structured as an employee-owned partnership. We believe in co-investment, we cap our funds and we prefer to focus on performance above asset gathering.
At the core of Somerset’s philosophy lies a belief in transparency. We are open about our ownership structure and our portfolios. Uniquely, we invite key clients to join an advisory board which meets annually, encouraging an effective alignment of interest between the partnership and our investors.
